VISITOR SAFETY RULES
Safety is a top priority at Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency. Safety during your visit with us is our prime concern. For this reason, we ask for your compliance with the following.
- High heels or open-toed shoes not recommended. We recommend wearing sneakers, running shoes or boots.
- Smoking is not allowed on site, by order of the Cedar Rapids Fire Department.
- Do not wear your "Sunday Best" to the landfill. You may get slightly dirty.
- Our operators are trained and licensed, but please be alert for them. Stay clear and watch at all times for moving vehicles.
- Please do not touch the equipment and never reach into moving machinery.
- PLEASE WATCH YOUR STEP. Please avoid walking on muddy areas. Remember, you are walking on a landfill.
- While touring our site, we ask that you walk on designated tour routes and stay with your tour guide.
- While traveling in a company vehicle, we ask that all occupants wear seat belts in both the back and front seat.
- Children and pets should be accompanied by an adult and are not allowed out of the vehicle unless a tour guide or staff member allows them to exit the vehicle.
- We are committed to safe conditions. If you see an unsafe area or act, please bring it to the attention of one of our staff members immediately. Your awareness and cooperation will ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable visit.
