Free products at our Swap Shop

Cleaners and paints are expensive, but you can save money and help the environment by visiting our Swap Shop, located at our County Home Road location. This environmental super store is stocked with used quantities of paints, cleaning products and other items, all free of charge to Linn County residents.

The Swap Shop is open during regular business hours at the Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency and doesn't require that you "swap" anything! Just come visit, but visit often because our inventory is constantly changing.

Swap Shop is stocked by residents

Linn County residents "recycle" their household hazardous materials by bringing leftover products such oil-based paints, stains, varnishes, spray paints, cleaning chemicals, and bug-sprays to the Solid Waste Agency's Pollution Prevention Center for proper handling and recycling.  Remember, residents no longer need an appointment, come by during normal business hours.
