Recycling Service Changes at 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids
Construction work, safety reasons, and limited use are leading to recycling service changes at the Solid Waste Agency’s Cedar Rapids facility. Effective July 01, 2017, the following items will no longer be accepted for drop-off at 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids (the Mount Trashmore facility):
- Commingled recycling (paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum & tin cans)
- Electronics (including TVs and monitors)
- Fluorescent bulbs
- Medical sharps & syringes
These items are accepted at the Agency’s Marion facility, 1954 County Home Road, inside the Resource Recovery building.
Yard waste, tires, appliances, scrap metal, glass, and asphalt shingles will continue to be accepted at 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids. Compost will also continue to be available at the site.
These recycling service changes at 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids, are being implemented for safety reasons, limited use of the services by residents, and because of ongoing redevelopment and demolition activities on-site.
