Marion Public Library Hosting Shred Event

The Marion Public Library is partnering with Advantage Archives to offer a community shred event during January! A community shred event is a safe and accessible way to dispose of old, unwanted documents.

Event Guidelines:
The shred event will run from Tuesday, January 2 – Wednesday, January 31. Documents can be dropped in the bin anytime during library operating hours.

The bin will be located in the library’s media section on main level, near the north entrance. A map of where the bin is located is available, and signage will be posted directing patrons to the bin.

To ensure capacity for all who would like to participate, individuals are limited to one, ten pound box of documents per person, per day.

Only paper items (stapled papers inlcuded) are permitted in the bin. Plastics (binders), metals (clips and rings), and media (CDs, DVDs, etc.) are not permitted in the bin.

Bins will be removed as they are filled. The library will not hold or store confidential documents for patrons if the bin is full.
