  • No charge for residential loads from Linn County residents
    • Materials must be from a resident and not a business to qualify
  • All businesses, former businesses, and farms should visit the Business page
  • Household hazardous materials are only accepted at 1954 County Home Road, Marion, Iowa inside the Resource Recovery building

Accepted Materials

A hazardous product is one whose use or disposal poses a threat to human health or the environment. It should never be put in the trash, down the drain, into storm drains or burned. 

When reading the labels, if words such as “POISON”, “DANGER”, “WARNING”, OR “CAUTION” are present, the material is a hazardous material.  Accepted materials include:

What to Do

When arriving at the Agency to drop-off household hazardous materials:

  • Stop at the scale first
  • Proceed to the Resource Recovery building and pull inside
  • A member of the Agency staff trained on proper handling of household hazardous materials will accept the materials into processing
