Garbage is only accepted at 1954 County Home Road, Marion, Iowa.

Solid Waste Agency staff are NOT authorized to unload any materials from customer vehicles or trailers. Customers are responsible for unloading items from their vehicles or trailers.

Fees (New fees take effect July 01, 2024)

  • For all weighed loads $48.00/ton ($22.00 plus tax minimum charge)
  • Pickup truck & full-size vans $22.00
  • SUVs/minivans

  • Box Trucks (U-Haul, Penske, Ryder, etc.)
    $48.00 minimum (for trucks that use residential unloading area)
  • Mattresses
    $20.00/each
  • Bulky Waste$78.00/ton
  • Clean Rubble
    (Mon - Fri Only)$20.00/ton ($20.00 minimum charge)
  • Fee for uncovered or unsecured loadsUp to $100.00
  • Tipping fee doubles for loads containing cardboard or other banned materials

Payment

The Agency accepts credit cards and debit cards, cash, and business checks. Payment is due at the time of service.

Asbestos & Special Waste

Garbage loads deemed special waste or asbestos have their own disposal process. Visit the Asbestos page and the Industrial & Special Waste page for their disposal procedures and fees.

Mattresses

Mattresses are accepted for $20.00/per mattress at 1954 County Home Road, Marion and are landfilled.

Loads with 8 or more mattresses are only accepted before 2:00pm Monday - Friday.

A better option for mattress disposal is using Willis Dady, where mattresses are recycled. Willis Dady mattress recycling details:

  • Accepted for $10.00 per mattress (from Linn County residents and businesses) at Willis Dady, 800 1st Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405
  • Only accepted from 9:00am - 2:00pm, Monday - Friday 
  • Loads with 5 or more mattresses need to call ahead to schedule; call 319-362-7555
  • Mattresses only; NO box springs

Using Willis Dady will not only save money, it will also help preserve landfill space and creates jobs at Wills Dady for the staff who recycle the mattresses.
