New Tipping Fees Begin July 01, 2025

The Cedar Rapids Linn County Solid Waste Agency Board of Directors approved the Agency’s FY'26 operating and capital budget back in December. The new budget year will begin July 01, 2025. The budget contains changes from the previous fiscal year, including increases to the garbage and yard waste tipping fees.

Rates and programs in FY’26 that will change include:

• Standard Landfill $50.00 per ton (increase of $2.00 per ton) – Minimum $22.00

• Special Wastes $70.00 per ton – Minimum one-ton charge

• Bulky Wastes $80.00 per ton (increase of $2.00 per ton; list of bulky waste available here: https://www.solidwasteagency.org/garbage/restrictions)

• Double-axle trailers (dump trailers, enclosed trailers, etc.) will be charged at least the one-ton minimum ($50.00) if they use the residential dumpsters area instead of going to the landfill and a $50.00 convenience fee per load, for a minimum of $100 per load. Loads taken to the landfill will pay the standard landfill tipping fee: $50.00 per ton, minimum $22.00.

• Box Truck Customers (U-Haul, Penske, Ryder, etc.) will be charged at least the one-ton minimum ($50.00) if they use the residential dumpsters area instead of going to the landfill. Loads taken to the landfill will pay the standard landfill tipping fee: $50.00 per ton, minimum $22.00.

• Yard & Wood Waste $32.00 per ton (increase of $2.00 per ton) – Minimum $15.00

• Commercial Finished Compost $32.00 per ton (increase of $2.00 per ton)

• Commercial Recycling $115.00 per ton (increase of $15.00 per ton)
